Mark your calendar for The 1916 Company’s traveling exhibition to celebrate the pivotal collections of F.P. Journe and the heritage and innovation of De Bethune
The 1916 Company proudly unveils the Icons of Time World Tour, celebrating the pivotal collections of F.P. Journe and the heritage and innovation of De Bethune through a four-city, pan-Asian exhibition. Launching in Beijing on September 24, the tour will travel to Shanghai, Bangkok, and Hong Kong later this fall, with each stop offering a unique program and distinct showcase of horological excellence. A walk-in experience open to all, The 1916 Company will welcome collectors, enthusiasts, friends, and journalists for exhibition viewing, private appointments, and conversations with its renowned experts.
Watches from The 1916 Company’s exhibition, GENERATIONS: A Timeline of F.P. Journe, will travel from the group’s New York F.P. Journe Gallery to Beijing, Bangkok, and Hong Kong. GENERATIONS was designed as a platform for scholarship and celebration, highlighting Journe’s endless quest for technical excellence and chronometric perfection through a collection of rare and exquisite timepieces. Standout watches from the exhibition, which will be on display and available to purchase, include a ‘pre-souscription’ Chronomètre à Résonance, a 30 Years Anniversary Tourbillon T30, a Ruthenium set, and many distinctive examples of F.P. Journe’s Black Label, Boutique Edition, and Limited Series.
Following Geneva Watch Days, De Bethune’s much-anticipated 2024 novelties will make stops in Shanghai, Bangkok, and Hong Kong, and the manufacture’s newly unveiled De Bethune Heritage Collection, curated by founder and master watchmaker Denis Flageollet, will be presented in Shanghai and Hong Kong. The Heritage Collection comprises 13 historical watches that showcase the brand’s achievements and innovations, offering insight into its contributions to modern horology. No longer in production, each piece reflects a blend of traditional craftsmanship, contemporary design, and undeniable artistry.
De Bethune’s latest novelties include the DB28xs Steel Wheels and DB28xs Aérolite, a watch that sits at the intersection of watchmaking tradition and modern science, captivating all with its blued Muonionalusta meteorite dial with random guilloché decoration. Both pieces embody the brand’s ongoing quest to push the boundaries of watchmaking, delivering the architectural and technical richness of the DB28 collection in a more intimate size.
Tim Mosso, The 1916 Company’s Media Director and Watch Specialist, will be on site in Hong Kong to meet collectors and friends and discuss the brand-defining collections by F.P. Journe and De Bethune.
